Cheap & Chic

For young ladycats with big dreams and empty wallets, local thrift stores are a girl's
best friend. Who doesn't like spending an afternoon digging through other people's
old junk and rejected hand-me-downs? Glamorous, isn't it. But alas, it sure is
satisfying when, in piles and racks of dusty duds, you come out with a handful of gems.
No shame here. In fact, here's an outfit I pulled out of the Goodwill in Portage, IN.

I thought I'd also share some of my favorite new hair products by Not Your Mother's and how I
did  my hair for these photos. All of these products are between 5-10 dollars, whatta steal!

Enjoy your Sunday!

The Cats Come Out at Night

Happy Friday the 13th!
Whenever the 13th of the month rolls around on a Friday, it's superstitiously been
considered an unlucky day. Kind of like a black cat crossing your path. Alayna and I
ventured to the outskirts of Valparaiso tonight to snap a quick few in front of a rundown
fireworks store. We found it ironically appropriate to involve an old Black Cat Fireworks
painting to our creepy Ladycat photo shoot.

Spooky huh? Speaking of spooky, it just so happens I grew up on scary movies (Thanks, mom).
I love any chance/excuse I get to watch a scary horror movie. ^_^ Drawing a blank? Lets see if i
can help you out. (Caution: For future reference, I do enjoy some shitty movies. I am
NOT saying any of these movies are shitty!)

1.Alien (1979)
2.Cemetery Man (1994)
3.28 Days Later (2002)
4.A Tale of Two Sisters (2003)
5. The Omen (1976)
6.The Amityville Horror (1979)
7. Cabin in the Woods (2011)
8. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
9.Freaks (1932)
10. Strangers (2008)

Snuggle up with your cat this 13th and enjoy one of these creepy films.

National Anthem

When Lana Del Rey's 'Born to Die' album came out earlier this year,
we immediately proclaimed it as the anthem of our 2012 summer.
As an homage to Lana, we thought we'd capture her Americana style
and her tribute to decades past (primarily, the 1960's) by putting together
a look that unified it all: Big hair, a short hemline, and a peachy Bardot pout.

This year it was 103 degrees on the 4th here in Northwest Indiana.
So dreadful! The sun is setting in these pictures, but don't let
it fool you, it stayed just as hot straight through the night. We didn't
let it ruin our celebration plans, though!

Dress and shoes are vintage, bought at Yesterdaze in South Tampa, Florida.
Bag and poodle pin are from the Antique Market in Michigan City, Indiana.
